All Things New

One of my favorite movie scenes of all times is in "The Passion of the Christ" when Jesus is carrying His cross toward Golgotha.

As He walks through one portion of the city, His mother, Mary, is seen racing through the crows in a desperate attempt to see her Beloved Son.

The agony and exhaustion of His beatings have already taken such a toll on Him that He labors even to take another step.

Suddenly, He loses His footing and crumbles to the ground, just as Mary is running up to Him.

Through unimaginable pain and complete exhaustion, He says to her, "Behold, Mother: I make all things new."

I can think of no words ever uttered or penned that have been more pregnant with meaning--and truth--than those words.

For the last 2 years, Jennifer & I have walked a journey that is in NO WAY comparable to the sufferings of Jesus, but they have been extremely painful and significant for us!

But...

(Don't you love it when the "but" comes in?!)

But Jesus has used every painful moment of these trials to show us exactly who He is!

AND...

(I love the "and"s, too!)

And, He has shown us that He is STILL making all things new!

No matter what we are facing...

No matter where we have walked...

No matter how painful...

No matter how hard...

Jesus STILL makes all things new!
