If Old Habits Die Hard, New Habits Are Born Harder

Have you ever noticed how easy it is to keep things the way they've always been, but how hard it is to start something new?

(I think I just heard a loud "Ug!" from the blogosphere.)

It seems like our "default" is to what we've always known, what we've always done, & how we've always done it.

But God help the man or woman who decides to do something new... Who tries to develop a new (good) habit.

Status quo? No problem! Something new? BIG problem!

Now, I don't know what you may be thinking about when I say all of this (isn't amazing the way our experiences shape our perspectives and taint our thoughts?), but I have a whole SLEW of things in my life where I'm trying to develop a new habit.

Why, oh why is it so hard?

Why, oh why does it take so much effort?

Why, oh why is so easy to "fall off the wagon" & back into the old habits.

Ugh! My head hurts... I'm going to bed!
